INJ - Injured
DoB - Dog on Beach
L&S - License and Shots
CbC - Cleared by Complainant
NRN - No Report Needed/Necessary
DBV - Dog Bite Victim
CR - Case Report
VR - Veterinary Report

SCL - Swap (at) City Line - for dogs going to another jurisdiction
PR - Personal Relief (when ya' gotta go, ya' gotta go!)
PRS - Paremedic Rescue Service

I actually have an inappropriate for the workplace list of 10codes that were given to me by a dispatcher. Some REALLY funny stuff but not postable...

We used to improvise. Using Public Safety Action Codes (which replaced 10 codes until they reverted back to plain language) we came up with two illness codes from the PRS side that amounted to diareahha and an eye injury. When used in conjunction to describe an officer they didn't know whether to 334 or 356 (poopy or go blind...) it always got a chuckle.

CYA (in my part of the country) is Cover Your (perverbial) Ass.

LE or LEO = Law Enforcement/Officer
ACI = Animal Cruelty Investigator
NACA = National Animal Control Association
DPS = Department of Public Saftey
CIT = Cat In Trap
IMP = Impounded
RTO = Returned to Owner
OR = Owner Release aka Owner Surrendered
Q = Quarantine
AWC = Approach With Caution

As a rule, I never use acronyms other than the standards of the trade, TCIC (Texas Crime Information Computer), NCIC (National Crime Information Computer), TLETS (Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunication System) and so on.

I do use some catch phrases that I have picked up over the years such as filet meow, corpus kitty or the tried and true road pizza, however one of our councilmen told me one acronym that I use regularly.

CAVE people = Citizens Against Virtually Everything.
