Default User Names

When you registered for ACOFunStop, what name did you choose? Some of us have catchy "handles" or usernames that reflect our profession or perhaps your personal pastimes. Some of you used your email address or your actual name. Several users have had some second thoughts about that and "rejoined" with a different name only to find out that you can't go back again. ACOFunStop only allows one unique username for each unique email address.

What to do?

In this day of electronic footprints, sometimes its best not to be yourself for whatever reason. We here at ACOFunStop understand that and want to make sure that everyone here can express themselves (within polite limits!) without having to wonder, "Will a search of my name reveal something to someone that would best not be revealed or at least directly attributable to me?".

If you are one of the ones who would like to revise your username, please PM me with your information, your current username and what you would like it to be along with a short reason why. No reasonable requests refused!

I concur, Mark. To everybody, when I switched agencies, it didn't seem right to use my old handle with the old employers name in it. Mark switched me up to the new identity in milliseconds. Piece of cake!! Thanks, Mark.

Thanks so much. Maybe some of our most frequent users, who have recently disappeared, will come back. I miss you all...

That's good to know. In the days of "Big Brother" it's ok to be a bit cautious.

Well, my name doesn't really have much to do with my job title, I just liked it. Laelaps is a greek mythological dog that never failed to catch what he was hunting. He is part of the greek mythological story of the paradox, as Zeus paired him with a fox that could not be caught. Who wins that one, eh?

Iíve considered changing mine a few times, especially since people started calling me GTO, because I actually like that much more than what I go by. However, I pulled something yesterday loading the dog food bin, and today the only thing that hurts worse than standing up is sitting down. So about every 5 minutes I keep telling myself that Iím Getting Too Old for this stuff.

Default supersig

My name has a cool story (I think). I was a Signalman in the Navy which was commonly shortened to Sigs. I communicated with morse code and signal flags. I was good at it, so my shipmates gave me the title of "Supersig". I served onboard the Battleship Missouri (BB63) and was part of the decommisioning crew. I have the honor of being one of the last 100 Battleship sailors in the world. One day i will get to Hawaii and see her (the ship) again.
