For me that kinda statement always happened among groups of men. Where one would say to the other " the dogcatchers here for you".

I would put on my best May West (for those of you old enough to remember) and say " honey, if your not bearing a fur coat, I ain't interested", flip my hair and move on. *sigh* I love being a girl.

Don't you just love the comedic geniuses who bark at us when we drive by...or push their buddy (or kid or spouse) towards the truck and say "take him/her." Where DO they get such funny and original material.

And I agree....so many key words. But, I particularly like, "Gee, the other officer just gave me a warning, why can't you?"

My biggest thing I get is people thinking I am a regular police officer because I wear a full uniform and the only place that it says animal control is on my badge. I always have people making comments like " it wasn't me" or "look you can take him" That is when I usually tell them I will if they want to come and hang out with the dogs.

I hate the term "dogcatcher" It's like people do not understand what an insult that is. I told someone the other day that I did not go through a psycological evaluation and a lie detector test to be called a "dog catcher" As for people getting tickets from me all depends on there attitudes. I had one lady was walking her dog off leash, for the third time in a row. After I was nice enough to give her two verbal warnings, I decided I would give her a written warning and maybe she would get the picture. After she refused to stop and cooperate and I had to call an police officer she recieved a citation. She was then mad that I did not give her a citation the first time I saw her dog off leash. I think sometimes the people earn the citation!

Most people are unhappy with tickets.. the one phrase that really bugs me is "...you people..." Like somehow there is a group of us nazi-wielding officers out there who STALKED this idiot and just waited for them to leave their dog in a 130 degree vehicle.

Other then that, all the phrases I hate have nothing to do with work. They are the excuses I seem to hear over and over for why people cant... well, they just arent the truth. At least most people who are pissed are giving you the TRUTH about how they see things... I can stand there and take that anyday. Im just done with excuses. Tell me the truth anyday. With me, what you see is what you get.

"I pay your salary" or "I saw a dead animal on <insert street>, go pick that up and stop bothering me" are two that do it for me.
