Default Written examination

Hi, I just received an email from one the counties i've applied for an ACO position in inviting me to take the written exam portion. I believe the application (have filled out several so I don't remember definitely which asked what) already asked several question about my experience with animals.

Am assuming there will be more questions about my experience. What kind of questions have ya'll run into? What other kind of questions might I expect to be asked on the exam?

One thing they may want is a written report. They wil produce a scenerio and expect you to right a report of what actions you took. Just remember concise and just facts, not assumptions or opinions. Remember who, what, when, where, and why.

My written tests covered math, English & grammar, reading & writing skills and a psych test. I had to take everything the PD takes (minus the shooting skills/dragging the 150 lb dummy test) including the polygraph.

Thanks! That's really helpful. I was wondering what would I be testing on that I would need to plan on 3 hours for, but that stuff would make sense.

If I pass well enough the physical test comes later. Climbing a sold & chain link fence, shooting a gun with my off hand, dragging a dummy, running a short distance, & doing changes of direction over a short distance.

pretty much every exam has a written report part...if it's an audio based report, listen carefully and write quickily, because they never give you a lot of time for it.

But i've taken exams for 4 different agencies before i started at my first shelter, and they are all very different...don't just study up on animals...one place i went to had grammar questions, and correctly written sentence questions...the place i'm at now had several questions that i wanna say were taken from the DMV, LoL.
