Default How about some good news to start the weekend off right

How about some good news to start the weekend off right? I know we are all feeling budget crunches, and we are just getting into the spring rush, and emtou’s bad news, but I got a boost this morning. I got this email from my boss about the budget I submitted;

“Once again, you did an outstanding job on putting it together. It’s nice to get such a detailed document that I don’t have to do a lot of research just to put the budget together.
Don’t ever leave while I’m still here, and if you do, you’ll have to give me your budget consultant rates.
I did do some work on the department goals, etc. Nothing too elaborate. I’ll get with you later.
Thanks for your awesome work!!!
DCP”

If that doesn’t start your day off right then nothing will. As I’ve mentioned (several times) before we used to do spay/neuter clinics at my facility. Last year they netted us a 20% decrease in incoming cats, and so far this year we are down by 20% across the board. To sweeten the pot, they are starting to come out again, and we will have out first clinic on June 30. We have been doing shot clinics and have vaccinated hundreds of animals, and we have our next clinic on June 6. Plus, we are working on a TNR ordinance, and when we get that in place I suspect my incoming cats will drop significantly more.

Yes, the economy sucks, but life is good.

I would hope that everybody has something positive to share, job related or not, so let’s try to keep this thread going for several pages.

That is a great story! I love to hear when you get kudos from the folks above!

Ok, here is my feel good story: I am FINALLY, after 21 years since I graduated High School, graduating from COLLEGE!

I went to work right out of high school, and one thing led to another and soon I realized that I had missed out on something amazing! So, I went back to school and was determined to finish, and I will, on May 20th, I graduate summa cum laude!

I am very excited!

Wonderful! Make sure you print that email off and keep a copy in a file folder. If you ever change jobs and need a reference....you've got one there, even if that supervisor leaves. And if you ever need a pick me up in the future...it'll be right there in print. And if you ever need defense from a complaint about you...you've got it.

I've got one! A good news story. I've really, really got one!!

I went to help out at the rabies clinic put on by my former employers today. (I go because I have become good friends with an number of their highly dedicated volunteers who inevitable end up running the event because the board and staff don't/won't.) Anyway, I found out that two seperate people who were ongoing cruelty concerns have finally got some serious charges against them. They are both really nasty people and for the better part of 2 years they have been haunting my dreams. I am SO glad to hear that someone finally followed up and got em!

Default Celebrating the good news with Boudica.

I told Boudica about the good news GTO and she was happy for you. She had a few drinks and I took her picture while she was buzzed. She told me she could handle her liquor but I think the pictures say otherwise.

(For those of you who are new, I am fraking with you. My dogs don't drink. They do not have jobs and until they do they don't get my Scotch.)

Cheers, Scooterchic
