Ugh. I have had the 'you can't force a carnivore to be an herbivore and still be healthy' conversation so many times my brain hurts. WHY do people insist that their dog MUST be vegan?

Edit: Wow- a ''soy'' based protein dog food that has to be sprayed with chicken fat so a dog will even eat it. Surprised?? Not me. All of the beneful formulas are mostly corn and wheat anyhow. Not worth a penny if you ask me.

Beneful healthy harvest ingredients:
INGREDIENTS
Ground yellow corn, corn gluten meal, whole wheat flour, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), soy protein concentrate, soybean meal, pearled barley, brewers rice, tricalcium phosphate, sugar, water, animal digest, sorbitol, phosphoric acid, salt, potassium chloride, L-Lysine monohydrochloride, calcium carbonate, sorbic acid (a preservative), dried spinach, dried sweet potatoes, dried apples, dicalcium phosphate, choline chloride, calcium propionate (a preservative), DL-Methionine, added color (Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 2, Yellow 6), zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, Vitamin E supplement, manganese sulfate, Vitamin A supplement, niacin, Vitamin B-12 supplement, calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, copper sulfate, biotin, garlic oil, thiamine hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, folic acid, Vitamin D-3 supplement, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), calcium iodate, sodium selenite.

One of my volunteers is always raggin on Beneful, or anything else with red food coloring in it, but especially Beneful because it is hard on allergies.

However, there is an advantage to the vegan diet (or so Iíve been told). The theory is that any nutrition in meat is just a byproduct of the vegetation the animal had eaten previously, so you can get more nutrition from less food going vegan.

Of course all this talk about vegan vs. carnivore (or omnivore in my case) has got me wishing all this freakiní rain would stop so I can fire up the grill and fix some totally unhealthy quantities of BBQ to munch on.

Pretty sure a meat lover dog won't appreciate being saved by a vegan LOL
