Actually, she was more like a loony toon. I failed to mention the laugh she had. She would raise her hands the way a wicked witch would and have this terrible cackle. I don't know but I survived my first encounter in the field with a looney tune.

You should hear about another case. The local PD has a problem with a woman who ties a bath towel around her neck (like a super heor cape) and she goes running up and down a busy street wearing nothing but the bath towel around her neck :O We have problems with that woman for having strays, so she is another character.

You did a great job by staying cool under pressure. Most people that you will write tickets too will not be that way. So, by getting that under your belt with your FTO present, is good. I have been in law enforcement for 8 years now. My biggest tip, is to buy a digital voice recorder and carry it in your shirt pocket. Please check with your supervisor to get the ok prior to carrying the recorder. GREAT JOB!!!!

Not only can you cover yourself, but in the right place at the right time, you may even be able to record the occasional disembodied voice.

I actually ordered a recorder from Quartermaster a week after that incident. It broke within the hour, so I sent it back.

I purchased my recorder at bestbuy and got the extanded insurance plan. I love this recorder because i can just plug it in to any USB and down load the files with no cords. Plus there is no additional software programs needed to down load, all files are downloaded as in windows media player. I payed about 95.00 bones for it.
