rate of pay is $75 per day
Good luck with that...8 hour day / $75 = $9.38 an hour?

There's a McDonalds in Walpole, MA (7.3 miles from Millis, MA) that's hiring "customer service" people (AKA: counter help) for $10.00 an hour with benefits.

Actually, it sounds like it's 24/7 on-call, weekends. Therefore, $75/24 hours=$3.12 an hour.

Sadly, that's almost double the $40 one would make here for a 24 hour on-call shift. And yes, McDonald's here also pays $10.00 an hour....to start!

It's billed as "part time" -- so I'm a little bit confused, myself?!?!

Just means they need you (and will only pay you) part of the time but you'd better be available all of the time since they never know when they'll need you.

The way it plays out around here, it means you will pick up the truck at 4 or 5 (or whenever the full time person is finished) on Friday and you will return it at 7 or 8 Monday morning. In between you will be on call 24/7 but will only be paid for Saturday and Sunday. (They've already paid the full timer for working on Friday, and they will also get paid for working Monday) You WILL work almost every holiday(but at the same rate of pay).....at least until the other part timer quits and you become high man on the totem pole. Then you can pick which holidays you want to work and dump the rest on the new guy......provided they're able to find someone else to take the position.

That is exactly what it means. I work for two towns and they pay you so much a year and want you to be around 24/7/365. Most of the small towns around here do not have full time AC.
