I personally, have a BS in law enforcement with a minor in criminology...and that has helped me considerably....

But it looks like you are very very well qualified as you are right now...

Good luck!

Speaking from a completely Canadian prespective, you're hired! Seriously, you have ten times more experience than ANY new ACO I have ever hired or even worked with. I am also quite sure that you would easily be accepted for cruelty investigator training here. Again, you're far more qualified than most of their candidates. If anything, some background in law and security would make you even more appealing to the folks up here.

From an ACO perspective, I think you've got good entry-level qualifications, and good on you! We do the best job in the world, and we need all the smart, qualified people we can get.

From an typesetting /editing perspective, I do see several typos, and you'll need to decide whether you're going to capitalize concept words or not (e.g., you have "Animal Aggression" but "Feline training and behavior"). If you want an edit, let me know -- several people now employed as ACOs will vouch for my resume skills.

(And on the OTHER other hand, I bet most AC supervisors couldn't find the typos either, so you may be good to go!)

Thanks for all the good advice and your compliments, extremely appreciated! A special thanks goes out to stmelangell for bringing the typos to my attention and offering to help!
I believe I'm currently in negotiations for a position that will bring me one step closer to achieving my dream.
Again, thank you all for your sincere suggestions!

You are certainly qualified as far as our department goes- our cruelty specialists are required 4 years of animal handling experience and are not police officers. *we may have a position open in the coming months* hint-hint! You're a long way from south Texas, but we'd be glad to have you!

Hmmmmmmmm? Very intererting. I've been told by a few in the field that Texas and Colorado have some the best standards and protocols in place. I am also extremely tired of shoveling snow, and I think it's a bit warmer down your neck of the woods. Please keep me posted, I would be forever greatful!
Thanks you,
Paul
