Does anyone have any experience trapping fishers? Prefer live trapping...

If you really want to live trap a fisher, I hope you don't value your trap or fingers much.

I have a little bit of experience in trapping fishers and in every case I have ever seen the fisher has destroyed the trap set.

If you have your heart set on doing a live trap I would suggest you use something like one of large live bear traps. If you don't have one contact your local game wardens, park rangers, wildlife biologists ect.

I would also recommend that you obtain the appropriate sedative for the species.

Well to paraphrase the line from Men In Black...........
"Imagine a 6 foot weasle with an attitude problem"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisher_(animal)

They tend to be a rather elusive animal, and they have been known to play havoc on cat populations. They are also the only animal in the north east that commonly preys on porcupines.

Stay Safe

That's exactly what I thought. But really, the fishers I've seen make honey badger look like a domestic.

There's a forum called "trapperman" that's very informative on that subject. I believe its trapperman.com but not positive.
