Smile Interviews

Lt. White is on a small vacation. I'm sure he will get back with everyone as quick as he can upon his return.

Our HR Dept qualified 11 applicants to be interviewed for the one ACO position. 4 applicants work here currently and are seeking promotion, 1 applicant is a former ACO with our agency who now wants to return, and 6 others from the outside. It's anybody's ballgame... no one has been preselected for the position by any means. Good luck to all.

As a fall back, our Animal Care Specialist positions are a good stepping stone and we do have quite a few of those. It may be a while before they advertise again, but just a thought. I will throw a thread out when the opportunity gtes closer, it is where I started almost 14 years ago.

Default Room for you in Palm Beach County

We will have 3 ACO spots coming up very soon and will also have our Special Investigations Unit Supervisor open again (sad to say). Our ACO's currently start out at about $18.71 hourly and have more work than they can stand. Our Field Supervisors start out at about $49,000. All positions come with full benefits. Feel free to contact me directly for more info.

Sometimes things change quicker than I can type around here... due to a transfer that occured moments ago... the Field Supervisor position that we will be hiring for will be assigned to our regular road patrol unit. This position is 1 of 2 Field Supervisors that work together to oversee 20 ACO's. Same pay, diferent duties.

Wow....I would be interested in the Special Ops job, as that is pretty much what I do now! Salary is even around what I am getting now...

I am curious as to what the cost of living is down there. Although, anything has to be better then Chicago...we are taxed to death here, which is one of the reasons I am looking elsewhere. Just too expensive to be forced to have to live here.

I think there was some discussion on cost of living earlier in the thread, but not sure myself right now. Palm Beach County is in a real estate super low, like most everywhere else I guess. Houses and apartments are extrememly affordable right now. Gas and groceries aren't that bad either for now.

I had a different Field Supervisor move over into the lead role in our Special Investigations unit, so it's actually her position which is now vacant. "Dayshift Field Supervisor", more of a regular routine position if there is such a thing in this world.

Hi ChicagoACOSupervisor,

It's so difficult to say how our cost of living here in Palm Beach compares with Chicago, since i've never lived there, but i do know that there are a LOT of forclosures down here, and you can snag a nice house or condo for very cheap. The banks are dying to get rid of them!

Hi Pale..

Yeah, I looked into that...because the whole no snow thing is starting to look VERY appealing! They got over a foot just to the east of us, over in Indiana the last couple days...and it has been COLD here! Florida looks reaaaaaaally good right now.

Cost of living down there looks pretty decent too. How are the schools down there?

Well, we dont have any kids, so i'm not really sure about the schools. But you're right about the weather...right now it is 68 and sunny. Though it does get pretty hot in the summer, but it's worth it.
