My cat wears a dog license, I wouldn't have it any other way, this way it is my shelter's info on the tag and not mine. I do not believe in putting a pet's name on their tag.

I've never heard this before, why is that?

I'm sure there is a good reason, but for the life of me I can't think of it right now, other then maybe you wouldn't want someone to steal your dog and know it's name, a problem I don't really have since my dog is crazy...

That is exactly the reason, I see a lot of cases here of animal theft and unless there is a microchip there is nothing we can do.

Yay, I was right!

We get animal theft cases sometimes and usually the animal does not have a microchip. In fact I can remember only one case in the last 5 years where the stolen dog had a microchip. Usually we end up comparing fuzzy photographs of the dog taken as a puppy to some adult dog that someone else has now. We don't really get involved in such cases but we do listen to people rant about it, even though we tell them from the beginning there isn't anything we can do since its probably a police and/or civil matter.

He's not that bad reallly, he's a brindle colored lab, shepherd, pit, chow mix, his name is "Chomper" and I adopted him from the place I work, with that name mind you. When we're out and about he's probably a little too protective, but when people come over to the house, he's cool.

Altered - $5-1 year, $9-2 year, $12-3 year
Intact - $15-1year, $28-2year, $40-3 year

For rabies, we track it separately, send out reminder letters, and enforce as needed. We seize a few dogs each month for non-compliance on rabies vaccination (after reminder letters & 2 citations for same).
