Default Lesley Roehr on KALW San Francisco - Wednesday PM

Pet-Abuse.Com volunteer and San Mateo County Animal Cruelty Task Force member Lesley Roehr will be appearing on a radio show tomorrow (Wed) night with other members of the San Mateo County Animal Cruelty Task Force.

The show is called "Your Legal Rights" with Chuck Finney, and it's on from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. on KALW San Francisco - 91.7 FM. For those of you outside the Bay Area, you can listen online at http://www.kalw.org/listen.html

Oh, thanks everyone! Iíve never been on the radio, so please be kindÖ I am excited about the show. Four of the twelve task force members will be participating.

Some of the topics of discussion will be the link between animal cruelty and other crimes, pending and recently passed animal cruelty legislation, and relevant probation conditions for animal abusers.

And yes, every spare moment I have is devoted to pet-abuse.com... It takes everything in me to even attempt to keep pace with Alison Ė she is truly an inspiration. She does so much, itís hard to believe she is just one person!

I missed the first half hour, but caught the second half hour when they started taking calls from the listeners. From what I heard it was very informative.

Hehe.... I'll let you in on a little secret - I'm "Carol"... LOL... the host was straying a bit, and wasn't really asking the right questions, so I figured I'd call in and help He seemed to stray to topics that would be less helpful to the general public, so I wanted to help put it back on track

If anyone who missed it wants to hear the whole thing (its long, but good to listen to for a number of reasons), I posted it online here:

http://www.pet-abuse.com/media/inter...w_04-19-07.mp3

I think some of you who are on tasks forces and haven't been on radio (yet) might be able to get an idea of what a radio program might be like with this show. The host was animal-friendly, which always helps, but he didn't really seem to focus on the most important aspects of the task force, reporting cruelty, and so on. If you find yourself prepping for an interview (and this applies to press interviews too), you might want to keep in mind how you'll gracefully segue back to the key points without being too obvious and insulting the interviewer. As you can hear, once Lesley had the chance to get back on track, a lot of valuable information came out.

GREAT job Lesley - ESPECIALLY for your first time on radio - you sounded calm, professional and articulate!!
