Default Tasers

Wanting to know if anyone on here departments allow use of Tasers for protection only not for control. If so looking for feed back in Arkansas and surrounding states please.

Well, I'm not in that area of your state but I am issued a taser for protection against animals and humans. We can use the taser for capture if all other options have run out and the animal is a danger to the public. The problem is you need two people. One to deploy the taser and one to snare to animal while it is being tasered. It is a last resort. Not really recommended.

Our policy is last option for protection of you, person or animal. Not a control method at all. That is why public fight ACO's having them, they percieve it as a control method and we will be tazing dogs that we cant capture. They just blow the top anyway and take off, it's not like they just lay there after being tased like we do.
