I've been an ACO for over 10 years and have my PC 832 cert. I'm trying to get back into the field and noticed many agencies now request a euthanasia cert to be obtained within 1 year. I've never needed one in the past, so I was hoping to get one for perspective employers. The problem is I can't find anywhere to train? Most of my ACO friends say it's provided by your shelter vet while employed. Humane Society of US does not have any classes. Do I have to be a vet tech or ACO to get this cert? Any schools in Southern CA offering this class?

SHAC used to have classes listed, don't seem to have many listed anymore, but this is their page:

All our classes/training is in house, and we go FAR above and beyond the minimum requirements.

Numerous years ago, SB. Co. Employees requiring recertification were sent to the Moreno Valley shelter for a class.

Check with NACA. They have courses all over the place.
