A little disappointed...

I was referred to this site by another ACO who stated that this was a great place to discuss our profession with those who understand what we do on a daily basis, however, I have yet to be answered by anyone who can add me to the ACO/HLE group. I have only been in the field for two years and it would be great if I can discuss issues and learn from more experienced ACO's in different states. But more importantly, a way for all of us to communicate and help eachother when our jobs are running us into the ground! I was just wondering does anyone else feel this way? :)

A lot of the discussions that used to go on here have moved to various Facebook Groups. This forum isn't the only one I follow that has more or less migrated to Facebook, but, yea, there should be something here to direct people to where the discussions are, or at the very least, take the forums down, although there are a few people who don't do the Facebook thing that are still here. I'm on both.

That is not good! Where are the mods? I don't think I have seen one of them post here in a long time. I am not on Facebook and would hate to see this site go.....

I'm with SixbyFire. This sight is still important and can be a great value. I check the face book postings as well but with like most things on face book it seems like the place to vent. and it is hard to have a good discussion thread on there.
I try to get on here at least once a day still.
So if you want to vent about how bad your cheeseburger was last night keep trying for face book. I like ACOfunstop for work discussions.

I don't qualify for the closed sections of the forum -- I just figured you all had gotten pretty quiet sometimes (although it doesn't seem all THAT long since there was a bit of back-and-forth out here?!?!). I would try clicking on one of the links in a message from A. Giannotto (sorry if that's not spelled perfectly). I think she is one of the moderators and owners, maybe the sole one now? She should be able to at least update on what went on -- I would have posted an announcement to let folks know that things were migrating, if it were me.

So you folks on the FB group(s), does this mean that non-ACO/HLEs are no longer to be part of the community? Obviously I think that's a sad development. Sometimes it can be really helpful to have a fresh perspective and I've often learned a lot from folks on here.

VERY disappointed!

SixbyFive - What are some of the facebook pages? I'm a little slow I guess, I didn't even think about facebook for this. I've noticed that its been really slow on here lately.

The "main" discussion group that I know of on Facebook is "secret" so you have to be added by someone to get into the group. I think the one other group is open, its just called Animal Control Officers, or maybe that group is just hidden, not really sure.

Send someone from that site your name here on PM and they can work it out...
