Patrols assigned area(s) in an animal control vehicle to monitor for Animal Control
violations, to aid animals in distress and to impound and transport animals to the shelter for treatment and care; investigates citizen complaints concerning Animal Control Ordinance violations; issues verbal and written warnings notice of violations and citations for violations of the Animal Control Ordinance; checks for and sells pet licenses; prepares and maintains a variety of routine and special records, reports, logs and forms; interacts with the public and provides information regarding the Animal Control Ordinance, Animal Services policies and procedures and other related programs; testifies in court; provides on-call emergency animal control services as assigned; investigates complaints of animal bites; locates biting animal and its owner; places biting animal in quarantine; performs humane euthanasia; performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years experience in field closely related to these duties; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION: Applicants are required to submit a completed Work Experience Questionnaire with their application. The questionnaire is available from the reception desk of the Personnel Division or from the County’s employment website www.personnel.slco.org The successful applicant must be able to routinely lift animals weighing up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, lift, reach and crawl. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Utah State Drivers License at the time of employment in order to operate a County vehicle to patrol assigned areas. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays on a regular basis. Must be able to pass a Salt Lake County Criminal Records Check.
