Advice for those NOT directly impacted by the storm.

DONATE - There are a number of organizations taking donations. Look to the Red Cross and others. For animals the ASPCA & HSUS.

Be prepared - Hurricane season is NOT over.

1. Fill your gas tanks. Prices will rise rapidly (30-50 cents in my area in ONE day) Even though there is not a critical shortage, suppliers are reacting by raising prices. Some areas are limiting diesel full to trucking companies. The Energy Secretary said no cap on gas prices will be considered. This will have a -- ripple effect --

2. Do some grocery shopping - gas prices will cause everything else to rise. Stock up on some non-perishables

Remember that those who were affected may need almost everything. Check the local media for donation sites and consider buying extra to donate but most of all, organizations such as the Red Cross need CASH donations.
