Annual Animal Investigations Class Offering
It is commonly known that there is a lack of training for Animal Cruelty Investigators and Animal Control Officers. This training was developed with that in mind. The course covers a variety of topics not normally discussed at seminars and conferences simply due to lack of time. This class should be attended by all investigators new and veteran because of the ever-changing content.
This is a non-traditional method of investigation instruction featuring more “hands-on” instruction and more class participation. It is focused on the Adult Learning Style of instruction. This class incorporates problem-based learning and allows the student to learn through carefully selected and designed problems that demand the learner to acquire critical knowledge, problem solving proficiency, self-directed learning strategies, and team participation skills.
The process replicates the commonly used systemic approach to resolving problems or meeting challenges that are encountered in life and career. All students will be given assignments to complete.
Class attendees comment that this class is unlike any that they have ever experienced and usually retain more information due to the mock scenarios and outdoor setting of the investigations portion. Attendees will play an active role in Crime Scene Reconstruction, Crime Scene Investigation, Evidence Gathering, as well as Search Warrant Preparation.
Reservations are required for this class due to the popularity of the instruction being offered and class size is limited. Tentative dates will be March 10, 11, and 12. The class will be held in Gastonia, NC. Cost for this class is $175.00 per person if paid before February 15, 2006. Any registrations after this date will be $225.00.
To make your reservation, please contact Thomas Adair at adairt@carolina.rr.com and specify in the topic line March Animal Investigations. Anyone who makes a reservation is making a commitment to attend and payment will be expected before the due date.
Detailed class information, location specifics, and accommodations will be forwarded to those making reservations. Hotel arrangements have been made at a government rate of 69.00 per night.
